What time is it?

Have you ever noticed that there are times when it feels like you live in a place of not enough and then there are times when you feel like you just can't lose?
One minute you think your ship has come in, and the next minute you feel like your ship left without you.
Then it feels like the cycle repeats?
“While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, and day and night Shall not cease.”

Well, I have worked a lot of jobs. It is almost embarrassing. Unless you know me, you would think that I could not hold down a job. Always trying to do better has not always worked out for me. I would have a job I really liked but circumstances would cause the company to restructure, and I would lose my job. Another time I would have a job through a temp agency working to get hired. 6 months of doing my best and then they would say that they don't need the extra person anymore. Having a good job and feeling hopeful. Then not having a job, not knowing if we were going to make it and going through interviews never knowing if I would be the one to do the best job. Then not getting the job and not knowing why. Asking, did I not answer right, was I not dressed right, or was there a friend of friend who got the job as a favor? You just never know.
I applied at a temp agency, and they asked for a list of all my jobs. I thought, "You have got to be kidding me! You just don't know what you are asking for!" But I got busy and got it done.
As I worked on the excel sheet listing all my jobs and all the place I've volunteered along with the dates. I started to see a pattern. It seems that September is a time when change happens. I either stop or start working a job in September. The same for March and April. "Oh, my goodness, what is wrong with me"?
Of course, when you think you need fixed and you're a child of God you pray and ask for help.
Holy Spirit what is wrong with me? What am I supposed to be learning? Who am I supposed to be touching by having all these jobs and volunteering at all these places? Help me be better so that I can land where You want me and stay there.
Help me to know what Your plan and purpose is for me. Please tell me how to explain all these jobs in my next interview.
In those days, when I studied my word, I would read a passage. Then re-read it very slow. Either in my mind or on paper I would imagine each word. The next day when I began to spend time in the word, I was reading Genesis 8. I got to Genesis 8:22 I began to imagine seed time and harvest. Seed time would be a time of hard work without seeing any fruit. But harvest time is the time when you work but you see the fruit and you're bringing it in. I thought that kinds sounds like me. Interviewing is like working and not seeing any fruit. Then when you land the job, it is like working and seeing fruit and bringing in the harvest.
Then when I went back to the excel sheet to finish it, I noticed again the pattern. I thought, "This is definitely my seed time and harvest."
The word says:
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Another job ended and came another time when I felt really blue. Sick to my stomach depressed. I felt like I was living in a sealed plastic bag and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t poke a hole in that bag or find a way out. My outlook was dull; I struggled with hope and joy. I felt stuck with limited life. I did not want to do anything, and I felt that nothing mattered anyway.
I got a call for an interview. I looked at the calendar, and it hit me. Then the light bulb came on. What time is it? It’s July! Oh, my goodness, it’s seed time because September is my harvest. Rather than letting myself spiral, I reminded myself daily that harvest was near. Hang in there a little longer. Harvest is coming.
Seed time is the time when you are just dry, empty, and struggling to find hope and purpose. It is the time you give of yourself. When you’re giving your time and your talent when you do not feel like you have anything to give, or you don’t want to give. This is when you press in and make yourself look for opportunities to give, for people to compliment and places to donate to or volunteer. This is when you smile and walk slowly through life being careful of the decisions you make when what you really want to do is scream and run. The time to take your vitamins and go to bed early every night.
For me, it was the time when I thought I would never get insurance and get my hip surgery. The time when I could not dress myself. Then I lost the job I had, and I could not get an interview. When everything seemed to break and the utility bills increased. When I made jokes about changing my name to Job Murphy (do you get it? -Job lost plus more challenges and Murphy’s law says if it can go wrong, it will). Then my husband got sick and was put in the hospital. My mom dies suddenly from COVID. My sister is forced to leave her house because they found lead based paint. And the list goes on.
Harvest time is when all the breakthroughs begin to show up like a parade of brilliant flowers. I got hired for a job I never thought I could get. I’m finally working with a team that is laid back and amazingly accepting of my weird personality. A job that will give me insurance right away and allow me the time off for my surgery even though I only worked there two weeks. A job with fantastic benefits. My husband gets better; my sister finds a place (small but it makes her live a simpler life). And the list goes on. After a couple of months, you find yourself drifting back into that dry, hard place of seed time. The cycle repeats. “Holy Spirit, what am I fighting here?” ……...” What time is it?” Use seed time to build your character and to get tough enough to bring in any harvest.
Father God in the name of Jesus, Your word speaks of seed time and harvest. We come before You right now and thank You for Your word. That You are a God of Your word, and Your word never returns to You void (unsuccessful). There are people like me who feel like they are chugging along with their wheels spinning in the mud. I am asking You Lord Jesus, please reveal to us our seed time and harvest. Holy Spirit, please provide supernatural introductions, opportunities, and breakthroughs in such a way that there is no doubt that it is You. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear so we will not miss one opportunity to plant seeds. Please shower upon us wisdom to know what seeds we are planting and how to harvest. Help us to not lose heart, to never give up, and to always hang on to hope. And in those times when things are very dry and hard, bring to our remembrance that Harvest time is coming. Also, dear Lord, help us remember during harvest time that we need to give You our tithes of our first fruits, along with the glory and the praise. Help us to represent You well during every season. Let both seed time and harvest be times when we remember to praise You, to give You glory out loud, and to share Your word. In Jesus name
On the other hand.....
When you find yourself face-to-face with those who are not exactly honest, who don’t exactly treat others the way they want to be treated, or can’t seem to be fair in anything they do. You know, the ones that lie, cheat and steal. You don’t have to stay around them and let them shred your life. Ask for clarity and remember that seed time and harvest apply to them also. Except they may not want to call it a harvest. It will definitely be payday.
Father God in the name of Jesus, for those who are not living for You, for those who are mistreating Your children, I pray Holy Spirit You would heal their conscience. Please, help them to see the error of their ways and give them dreams so they can see the consequences of their actions. Father God, please prepare their heart and mind to receive the good news of Your word. And help us dear Lord to know how to act and react to these people in such a way that it drives them to You and not away from You. Help us to know that You are the God of all circumstances and You are working them all out together for our good. Please Lord Jesus, help us to act right during the seed time in Jesus name.
Further your Faith:

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
